A few thoughts:
1. Love the new layout on Wordpress. Clear, crisp, artistic. It fits the blog.
2. I don't like the blue. In fact, I would avoid blue, gray and green because they are also such trendy blog colors and your blog is not a very trendy blog.
3. I love Blogger and still think it's better than Wordpress. If you can manage that look, but still use Blogger, I'd go with that.
Just my thoughts. You can take them or leave them.
I have to agree with John. Although I like the look and simple design (not in a bad way) of the new blog, I feel like blogger is better over all.
If you really are that intent on redesigning your blog, then there are a ton of templates out there that might fit you.
